Sevens were not able to be lucky in the end to Florida Lottery players Saturday night.
It occurred on the seventh day, the seventh month in 2007 but this number did not help significantly during the Play 3 and Play 4 games. It was seven-free: 632 and 46595.
Before the drawing, there were so many tickets featuring the numbers 777 and 7777 that were sold that these numbers were sold out possibly for the first time that has happened in Florida history, according to Jackie Barreiros, spokeswoman for the Florida Lottery.
“This is very odd,” she added. “I don’t know if this has ever happened.”
Barreiros stated that there are limitations to the number of tickets that can be bought from any given combination of numbers. If you play the Cash 3 game, there are 10,000 tickets in the Play 4 it’s 10,000.
People, conscious of the date on Saturday and the luck that has been associated with the number 7 since ancient times, purchased triple- and quadruple-7 combos throughout the week, with the number of purchases increasing as 7-7-07 approached Barreiros explained. In the past, 666 nearly was sold out in June, she noted.
David Frye, owner of McCarthy’s convenience store and grocery store located at 1400 E. Las Olas Boulevard. located in Fort Lauderdale, said people were shocked on Saturday when they learned they couldn’t play the sevens.
“Everybody’s trying to do that and they’ve been turning them down,” Frye explained.
The week has already witnessed odd events, Barreiros explained. On Monday the Lottery’s 7,000th draw included there was a cash draw. 3 number was 151 which adds up to seven. The drawing of Friday night was the same number: 016. “I found that to be interesting,” she declared.
As per Florida Lottery statistics, the combination of 777 has appeared (no joke) seven times. The most recent time was in December. 3 the 3rd of December, 2006. Participants who bought the ticket combo were able to sell the numbers which resulted in 18,542 winning the jackpot.
What about Play 4?
7777 isn’t showing up at least not yet.
However, those who are still numb following Saturday’s loss can be assured that there’s always next year, and the opportunity to bet on all 8s in August. 8 August 8, 2008.
